BCFTA are adding to the portfolio of training courses they provide by introducing a new course specifically for people involved in the manufacturing of feed compounds supplied as blends or pellets. This new course came about following requests from BCFTA member companies for structured training covering those involved in feed manufacture. After discussions with the Trade, it was clear that we have a skilled work force but they are trained on the job. Whilst this is a good way to provide training, there is a real need for an external course that allows staff to learn in a structured manner away from the day to day pressures of business. The BCFTA course will focus on the key areas of feed manufacture including the use of raw materials, the production process and controls that are in place so as to produce high quality and safe animal feed. The BCFTA ‘Feed Production Foundation Course’ will take place over 3 days in Bristol and the Netherlands where it will make use of a Feed Mill which has been purpose built to be used for training and trials work. The first ‘Feed Production Foundation Course’ is being held between the 16th and 18th February 2016 and for further information on the please contact richard@bcfta.com or telephone 01275 373539
